We have been delighted to learn that the number of hits on the Eastside Rail Now! web site recorded another consecutive monthly increase for August. Although the rate of increase from the month earlier level was much less than the huge 50 percent we experienced several months ago, this growth is still significant, especially because August can be a slow month for web visits due to the obvious attractions of summer.
Moreover, we have also discovered that, according to industry data, this site has become the leading rail advocacy website in the state of Washington in terms of the number of hits -- and by a large margin! This is pretty impressive, especially considering that we just got started in January.
It is, of course, a result of the outrage on the part of a growing number of ordinary citizens that a few politicians are so intent on doing something that both defies common sense and would be so damaging to the future of our region. It is also the result of the hard work by many of you.
