The following upcoming public meetings can provide a good opportunity to learn more about the Eastside railroad situation, express opposition to King County's plan to remove the tracks and express support for starting rail transit on the railroad: April 10, 2007 (Tuesday) Sound Transit,East Link Public Workshop, Planning and Environmental Process, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Redmond City Hall. RSVPs are appreciated but not necessary. April 12, 2007 (Thursday) Sound Transit Board Meeting, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m., Union Station, Ruth Fisher Boardroom. Everyone is urged to attend and express support for having Sound Transit's include commuter rail on the Eastside railroad as part of ST2 and beginning a pilot service on the Eastside railroad as soon as possible as an important step to protecting the railroad from dismantlement. April 17, 2007 (Tuesday) Eastside Rail Now!, public meeting, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Starbucks Coffee (10214 NE 8th) in downtown Bellevue (next to See's Candies). April 19, 2007 (Thursday) Sound Transit, Citizen Oversight Panel Meeting, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Union Station, Concourse Room. April 28 (Saturday) State representatives Ross Hunter (D-Medina), Deb Eddy (D-Kirkland) and state senator Rodney Tom (D-Bellevue) will meet with the public at 10 a.m. at Chinook Middle School, 2001 98th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue. May 1, 2007 (Tuesday) Eastside Rail Now!, public meeting, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Starbucks Coffee (10214 NE 8th) in downtown Bellevue (next to See's Candies).
