A DMU used on the River Line in New Jersey. The 34 mile line, which began revenue service in March 2004, runs on existing railroad tracks along the Delaware River between Camden and Trenton, the state capital. It is the first new light rail line in the U.S. to use DMUs instead of electrically powered vehicles. A substantial, and growing, freight service is also conducted on this line at night after passenger service has ended. (click on image to return to DMU page)
